Tools for taking sound apart.
Small, exacting plugins for producers and sound designers. The first is Drum Unmixer, which separates a drum loop into its kick, snare, hats and remainder so you can work on each hit on its own.
Separate a drum loop into its constituent hits.
This is the plugin running in your browser. Press Play, then solo, mute, rebalance and gate each lane while the loop runs.
SUPERWEAPONStopped. Press Play to start the loop.
Web demo with a demo loop synthesized in your browser. Greyed controls (loading your own audio, export, drag and MIDI) work in the plugin.
Every lane drags straight into your DAW, as audio or as MIDI. That's where the fun starts.
Drag every lane out as lined-up WAVs. Compress the kick, drown the snare in reverb, chop the hats. A multitrack of a loop that never had one.
Get the pattern with every velocity, mapped to General MIDI. Keep the groove, swap the sounds, pick any tempo.
Drag kit pulls the cleanest hit from every lane, ready for a sampler. Add the MIDI and the break plays on its own sounds.
Load a break, drag out what you love, load the next. MIDI and one-shots fit together whatever the original tempo.
Files are named by loop, tempo and lane, so your parts library grows without overwriting anything.

Unzip it, copy Drum Unmixer.vst3 into your VST3 folder and rescan in your DAW. That's it, nothing to activate.
Open a mixed drum loop or break. Drum Unmixer reads the file name, tempo and length, and lays the original waveform across the top.
Choose 2 to 6 lanes and a Natural or Tight separation. In about a second, every hit is found, named after what it sounds like and marked in its lane.
Drag every lane out as audio, drag the hits as MIDI, or drag a kit. Export folder writes the lot to disk instead.
Separate a drum loop into its constituent hits, then drag them out as audio, MIDI or a kit.
